Born in France, Anne Buffetrille studied German Literature in Paris before starting her work as a set and costume designer in 1999. She has work in Europe at theaters like  at places like Theaterhaus Jena, Staatstheater Darmstadt, Théâtre de la Villette Paris, Ballett Pforzheim, Stadttheater Konstanz, Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, Nationaltheater Ostrava, Staatstheater Karlsruhe and Theater des Kindes, Linz. In Paris she has also worked for Jean Paul Gaultier as assistent with Barbara Coison. At Theaterhaus Jena she designed costumes for the summer theater shows JOHANNA, DIE DREIGROSCHENOPER, DIE ORESTIE, DER STURM, as well as for RICHARD III, WILD AT HEART, KINDER DER SONNE, JUGEND OHNE GOTT (all directed by Markus Heinzelmann), and Katharina Schmitt's KNOCK OUT (directed by Heiko Kalmbach). She also designed the costumes for Naturaleza Humana's production PAVLOV'S LAB.
