Kai Meyer, born 1979 in Aurich/Ostfriesland. Since 1994, he played in a school group, and directed in 1999 with amateur actors the play "Rattenjagd" by Peter Turrini (was awarded 1st price at the Ostfriesisches Jugendtheaterfestival). Afterwards, he moved to Berlin and worked behind the camera (including for films like "Rosa Roth" / ZDF, "Dienstreise" / Sat.1). From 2000 to 2004, he studied drama at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Rostock. Since then, he was a freelance actor with guest engagements at the DNT Weimar, Staatstheater Karlsruhe, Schauspiel Leipzig, Volkstheater Rostock, and for independent theater-projects in Berlin and Hamburg. In the season 2006/2007, he was part of the artistic direction and the management of the Theater “Eigenreich” in Berlin. Furthermore, he has directed several short films. Since September 2008, he is ensemble member at the Theaterhaus Jena.
