"bauhaus impact" Exhibtion in Weimar

location: 'Zeughaus' behind the Bauhaus Museum in Weimar

The influence of the Bauhaus in Europe and beyond is obvious. The project Bauhaus Impact wants to highlight the less obvious traces of the cultural impacts bequeathed by the Bauhaus and its protagonists.

From July 14th to August 8th 2009, nine students and grad students from the Bauhaus University Weimar and students from the Middle East Technical University Ankara came together to find these traces of Bauhaus-tradition in Ankara and in Istanbul. True to the theme of “point, line and space” – workshops and interdisciplinary projects allowed a cross-cultural exchange and set a creative surrounding to establish ideas how to interpret art, architecture, society and politics.

Works in video and animation, photography, performance and fine arts emerged out of that exchange and are now on display in Weimar.
